- When used with the optional MZD 8000 digital module, the MKH 8060 becomes a digital microphone that outputs AES42 signal at up to 24-bit / 192 kHz resolution and allows remote control of DSP functions such as low-cut filtering and attenuation.

- The MKH 8060's metal body features a nonreflective Nextel coating to prevent distracting visual reflections.
