Product Overview

The amaran Halo 600x is the most powerful light in amaran's Halo series of bi-color COB monolights. The Halo name is the series name, not a shape. This is a point-source Bowens mount COB, and at 32,500 lux at 1 m bare it delivers double the output of the Halo 300x from a head that is still compact for a 600W-class fixture.

This is the size you buy when the room is big, the modifier is big, or the light has to travel through heavy diffusion and still key the subject. It handles large softboxes, book lights and bounce setups that starve smaller COBs. Like the 200x and 300x, it runs on a single 5 m AC cable with no external power brick.

Key Features

  • 610W max draw bi-color COB with up to 32,500 lux at 1 m bare and 62,000 lumens of total output.
  • Color temperature runs from 2,700K to 6,500K with separate brightness and CCT knobs.
  • Accurate white light: CRI 96+ and TLCI 97+. amaran rates SSI at 84 tungsten and 74 daylight, and independent spectrometer reviews measured the same values.
  • Bowens mount and an 85 degree bare beam that fills even large softboxes and lanterns edge to edge.
  • All-in-one monolight design: one 5 m AC cable from wall to light.
  • Control on the fixture, in the amaran app over Bluetooth (up to 80 m), or on DMX consoles via the optional USB-C to 5-pin adapter.
  • Max fan noise is 28 dBA, with a silent mode (output capped at 55W) for critical audio takes.

Which Halo Size?

All five Halo models share the same color engine, Bowens mount and 85 degree bare beam. Pick by output and power source.

Model Max output (bare, 1 m) Power draw Power input Best fit
Halo 60x 3,270 lux 63W USB-C PD Desktop setups and travel kits
Halo 100x 4,890 lux 100W USB-C PD or DC Small rooms and solo creators
Halo 200x 10,530 lux 200W AC Home studio key light
Halo 300x 16,200 lux 305W AC Interview and studio key light
Halo 600x (this light) 32,500 lux 610W AC Large rooms and big modifiers

All five sizes are in our amaran Halo collection.

Halo or Something Else?

The Halo 600x is bi-color only and AC only. If your work needs RGB color, battery operation or IP54 splash resistance at this output level, the amaran Ray 660c is the full-color sibling to consider. If you are lighting demanding commercial work where color fidelity and build toughness come first, step up to the Aputure STORM series, which measures higher on SSI in independent tests. If you mostly shoot seated interviews in normal rooms, the Halo 300x saves money and power for the same job.

In the Box

  • 1x amaran Halo 600x
  • 1x amaran IEC C13 AC Power Cable (5 m)

Only the power cable is included. No Halo ships with a softbox or reflector, so plan a Bowens modifier from the start. A 90 cm class softbox like the amaran Light Dome 90 is the minimum this output deserves. The fixture is rated IP20, so keep it to indoor and covered work.

Where to Buy in Canada

Buy the amaran Halo 600x from Filmgear Canada for Canada-wide shipping, Vancouver pickup and Canadian dealer warranty support. See it against the 300x on our Vancouver showroom floor before you decide, because the right answer depends on your room and your modifiers. If this is the core of a new studio build, ask us to plan the light, modifiers, stands and power together so the kit works as one system.

Bi-color LED light for white-light key, fill, bounce, interview, creator, and small production setups.

Relevant for buyers comparing Halo sizes, Ray 120c, Ray 360c, panels, and COB-style fixtures.

CCT, output, power, battery, app control, modifier, softbox, grid, and case needs should be planned before buying.

Useful for creators who want an amaran lights workflow without paying for a larger Aputure system.

Match the size to room distance, subject coverage, stand capacity, and whether the light will travel often.

FAQ

Is Amaran Halo 600x Bi-Color LED Light better than Amaran Ray?

Choose Halo when you need bi-color white light and a clean key or fill workflow. Choose Ray when RGB color, creative effects, or a COB-style color fixture is the reason for buying.

Which Halo size should I choose?

Match the size to subject distance, room size, modifier size, stand capacity, and travel needs. Larger Halo models make more sense when output and coverage matter more than packing small.

Can Amaran Halo 600x Bi-Color LED Light work for interviews?

Yes. It is a sensible interview direction when you need bi-color CCT control, softbox or bounce use, and repeatable white-light setups without moving into a bigger system.

What accessories should I check first?

Check the softbox or reflector path, grid needs, stand and sandbag support, case expectations, battery or AC power plan, and whether the light needs app or DMX-style control.

Where can I buy Amaran Halo 600x Bi-Color LED Light in Canada?

Filmgear Canada sells Amaran Halo 600x Bi-Color LED Light for Canadian creators, studios, schools, and production buyers, with Canada-wide shipping and Vancouver-area support.
