Aputure FAQ
Is Filmgear Canada an authorized Aputure dealer?
Yes. Filmgear Canada is an authorized Aputure dealer, so every light is genuine, comes with full Canadian manufacturer warranty, and is supported locally — not grey-market stock imported without coverage.
Can I see or test Aputure lights before I buy?
Yes — and it is one of the best reasons to buy locally. Our Vancouver showroom is set up so you can see and test Aputure and Amaran fixtures in person: compare output, color and form factor before you commit. Drop by, or contact us to arrange a hands-on demo of a specific light.
Do Aputure lights come with Canadian warranty?
Yes — full Canadian warranty, handled locally in Vancouver. You deal with us directly for support instead of shipping a unit back across the US border.
Will I pay US duty or cross-border fees?
No. We ship from within Canada, so there is no US import duty, brokerage, or surprise customs charges. Orders ship Canada-wide with free shipping over $199, and same-day pickup is available at our Vancouver showroom.
Which Aputure light should I get?
It depends on the job. MC Pro and MT Pro are pocket and accent lights; LS and STORM COBs are workhorse key lights; NOVA panels give soft, even light for interviews; INFINIBAR tubes handle color and edge work. Our Aputure buying guide breaks it down by shooting scenario.
Are Aputure lights Bowens mount?
Most Aputure COB fixtures (LS and STORM series) use the industry-standard Bowens mount, so they fit common softboxes, domes and reflectors. The high-output XT52 uses Aputure's own mount. Tell us the model and we'll confirm it fits modifiers you already own.
Which Aputure lights are full-color (RGB) vs bi-color?
In the STORM line the 1000c is full RGB, while the 400x, 700x and XT52 are tunable bi-color (white). The MC Pro, NOVA P-series and INFINIBAR are full RGBWW color. If color control matters, we'll point you to the right one.
Do you have it in stock — can I pick up today?
Live stock shows on each product page. In-stock items are ready for same-day pickup at our Vancouver showroom, or we ship across Canada. For pre-orders or special orders, contact us for a real timeline.
Do you ship Aputure across Canada?
Yes. Many of our customers order from outside BC, so we ship Canada-wide with free shipping over $199 — out-of-province buyers get the same authorized pricing, genuine stock and Canadian warranty as local customers. Oversize items may carry a flat rate, shown at checkout.
