Creating content for immediate viewing? Four creative video modes and nine custom RED Picture Controls will help nail the look and feel in-camera. Try the Cinematic mode, which sets the shutter angle to 180° and the frame rate to 24fps: then use the RED colour presets to adjust the tone of footage.
Dual Base ISO with 15+ stop dynamic range
A Dual Base ISO of 800/6400 maximises the sensor’s performance for clean, noise-free footage. It’s available when shooting in Log3G10, and the camera’s wide 15+ stop dynamic range is maintained at both ISOs for maximum detail in highlights and shadows.

Shooting in RAW or a log format? You can load up to ten 3D LUTs, including 65-point LUTs, for viewing on the ZR monitor. You’ll see the impact of exposure or lighting choices on the colours you’re going for, while the footage itself stays clean for maximum flexibility in post.
In-camera 32-bit float audio recording
In a world first, the ZR lets you capture 32-bit audio using the camera’s internal mics, or a compatible external mic. The dynamic range is so vast, you won’t need to constantly monitor the levels when filming: you can adjust them in post without clipping.
OZO Audio technology
With three built-in MEMS microphones, the ZR lets you record sound without an external mic. There’s five pick-up patterns to choose from.
In-body VR for steady handheld footage
No need to take a gimbal. Nikon’s powerful in-camera 5-axis sensor-shift image stabilisation compensates for camera shake to keep handheld footage steady. Great for dynamic run-and-gun video shoots where spontaneity is key.
