FAQ

Can I leave the 5564 standing on its own for a long exposure?

Use it as a monopod with a hand on the camera. Its small folding base helps with movement and positioning, but it does not replace a locked-off tripod for long exposures.

Is the 5564 aimed at stills or smooth video pans?

The included head is a ball head for still-photo framing. If controlled pan and tilt movement is the priority, compare the SmallRig 5565 with its fluid head.

How quickly can I change the height?

The one-button lift-and-lock mechanism adjusts the four-section carbon-fibre leg from 14 to 166.5 cm. Keep a hand on the camera while changing height.

What payload figure matters for my camera?

SmallRig rates the leg at 15 kg and the included ball head at 5 kg. For a camera mounted on the supplied head, use the 5 kg head limit and include the weight of lens and accessories.

How It Compares

Choose the 5564 for ball-head still-photo framing and a lighter carry. The 5565 adds a fluid head for controlled video pans and tilts.
