Aputure CF4 Fresnel for STORM 80c
The Aputure CF4 Fresnel is a compact four-inch focusing modifier with a Mini ProLock Mount, designed specifically for the STORM 80c. It converts the compact point-source fixture into a brighter adjustable hard light with a 15 to 40 degree beam range for interviews, location work, tabletop sets, accents, and small-space production.
Product Overview
Aputure specifies up to 5.5 times output intensification with an even beam and smooth centre-to-edge falloff. On a STORM 80c at full intensity and 5600K, the official photometric table lists 36,000 lux at one metre in the 15-degree spot position and 12,500 lux at one metre in the 40-degree flood position. The dual-expanding focus system reduces the stored size while maintaining the adjustable beam. The CF4 locks directly into the STORM 80c Mini ProLock Mount. It is not the CF12 used by larger STORM 1000c and 1200x fixtures, and it does not adapt full-size Bowens accessories on its own.
Key Features
15 to 40 Degree Focus Range
Move between a concentrated 15-degree spot and a broader 40-degree flood to adjust beam size and intensity without changing the modifier.
Up to 5.5x Output Intensification
Aputure rates the CF4 for up to 5.5 times intensification, including 36,000 lux at one metre, 5600K, and the 15-degree spot setting on STORM 80c.
Mini ProLock Mount
The compact Fresnel inserts into the STORM 80c Mini ProLock interface and locks with the fixture's ProLock handle for a secure optical connection.
How It Compares
Choose the CF4 when the STORM 80c needs an adjustable, punchy hard beam. Choose the included reflector for a simpler fixed beam, the CF4 Barn Doors for spill control after the Fresnel is installed, a Quick Dome or Light Dome for soft output, or the CF12 for compatible larger STORM heads.
Compatible Accessories and Related Gear
Aputure STORM 80c and Aputure CF4 Barn Doors. Use the CF4 with the STORM 80c Mini ProLock Mount. Do not assume compatibility with CF12 fixtures, full-size Bowens heads, or other Aputure lights without the official compatibility listing.
Who Is This For?
This modifier is for gaffers, cinematographers, owner-operators, documentary teams, small studios, and rental kits that need more throw and an adjustable hard-light beam from the compact STORM 80c.
Who Should Choose Something Else?
Choose a softbox or lantern when broad soft light is the goal, a projection attachment for precise shutters or gobos, or a different Fresnel size when the fixture does not use the STORM 80c Mini ProLock interface.
