The Nikon ZR is Nikon's first Z-Cinema camera and the first body co-developed with RED after Nikon acquired RED in 2024. It brings RED's REDCODE workflow into a compact full-frame body, sold here body only, aimed at narrative, documentary, and commercial work.
Key features
- 24.5MP partially-stacked full-frame CMOS with Expeed 7 processor (shared with the Z6 III), for reduced rolling shutter
- Internal R3D NE (12-bit REDCODE RAW) plus N-RAW and ProRes RAW, up to 6K/60p
- 4K up to 120p and 1080p up to 240p for slow motion
- Dual base ISO (800 / 6400) on R3D NE, 15+ stops of dynamic range
- World's first camera with 32-bit float audio, internal and external
- In-body image stabilization (IBIS)
- Passive cooling, no fan. The magnesium-alloy body dissipates heat for continuous 6K/60p recording up to about 125 minutes, and runs silently with no fan noise on quiet sets
- Micro-HDMI (Type D) output. A right-angle or cage-mounted adapter to full-size HDMI is recommended to protect the port on location
- 4-inch 1000-nit rear display, 3.07M dots. Nikon Z mount, CFexpress Type B
Body only. Lens, batteries, and media sold separately. A strong fit for shooters who want RED color science and internal RAW at a hybrid-camera price.
