Octopus maintains the required flange relationship between the PL lens and the shorter Leica L camera mount without adding optical elements. Because it is a passive mechanical adapter, it does not provide autofocus, electronic aperture control, or lens-data conversion. DZOFILM uses an active-lock style, metal construction, and internal light-control treatment to support a secure cinema-lens connection. Lens rear clearance, image circle, camera-cage clearance, and physical support remain separate compatibility checks.
