The Hollyland Pyro 7 is a 7-inch wireless transceiving monitor — it's a 1500-nit touchscreen monitor and a Pyro wireless TX/RX in one unit. Useful when you'd otherwise be buying a 7-inch on-camera monitor plus a separate Pyro receiver: this collapses the two into one device for director, client, and video-village viewing.

Key features

  • 7-inch 1920 x 1200 touchscreen, 1500 nits (usable outdoors)
  • TX, RX, and monitor modes — sits on either end of a Pyro link
  • HDMI 1.4b and 3G-SDI input and output
  • Up to 1,300 ft (400 m) line-of-sight range, ~60 ms latency in lab conditions
  • Broadcast Mode: one TX can feed up to 4 receivers
  • Standard monitor tools — waveform, focus assist, zebra, false color, 3D LUT, image overlay
  • SD card video recording / clip export
  • DC input 10–18V, ~570 g without external antennas

FAQ

Pyro 7 vs Pyro S vs Teradek Bolt?

Pyro S is just a TX/RX pair, no screen. Pyro 7 adds a 7-inch screen to one end. Teradek Bolt is the higher-tier wireless video standard — lower latency, more robust in crowded RF, and what most narrative camera departments expect for serious focus pulling. For director / client / livestream monitoring, Pyro is the better-value pick; for critical focus on a busy show, Bolt is still the safe answer.

Can I use it as a receiver only, with my existing monitor?

Yes — set it to RX mode and send HDMI/SDI out to whatever else you're feeding. It's a regular monitor with a wireless receiver built in.

Does it work with the Pyro H and Pyro S transmitters?

Yes, within the Pyro ecosystem. Pair it as the receiver/monitor end of a Pyro link.

FAQ

Is Hollyland Pyro 7 good for focus pulling?

It can work for general monitoring, director viewing, and client viewing, but critical focus pulling depends on latency tolerance, RF conditions, and the camera department standard. For high-pressure focus work, compare against Teradek Bolt before buying.

What matters most in a wireless video system?

Reliability, latency, range, receiver count, HDMI/SDI routing, and RF environment matter more than resolution alone. A clean 1080p monitoring feed is usually more useful than a higher-resolution system that drops signal during the take.

Does Pyro 7 support HDMI and SDI?

Yes. Pyro 7 includes HDMI 1.4b and 3G-SDI input/output workflow, so it can fit mixed camera, monitor, switcher, and video village setups.

How many receivers can the Pyro system feed?

Hollyland lists Broadcast Mode support for one transmitter feeding up to four receivers. App connections and Broadcast Mode can affect range, so plan the receiver count around the actual set layout.

Should I choose Pyro S, Pyro 7, or Teradek Bolt?

Choose Pyro S for transmitter/receiver wireless video, Pyro 7 when a 7-inch wireless monitor is part of the package, and Teradek Bolt when near-zero-delay professional wireless video is the real production requirement.
