The short answer
Buy the OSEE GoStream Deck if every camera you own is HDMI and you want the most outputs for the least money. It drives program and multiview on two HDMI outputs at the same time, streams to three platforms at once without a computer, and has a headphone jack. At C$399.98 at Filmgear on 16 October 2026, it was also the cheapest of the three.
Buy the Blackmagic ATEM Mini Pro if you need SRT streaming, you already run Blackmagic gear, or your volunteers will learn the switcher from YouTube. It has one HDMI output and no headphone jack, but by far the biggest library of tutorials. Blackmagic's Canadian list price was C$465 on 16 October 2026.
Buy the RØDECaster Video S if sound is the hard part. It's the only one of the three with XLR inputs, built-in receivers for two RØDE wireless mics and a separate recording of each camera (ISO). It's also the most expensive, C$693.99 at Filmgear on 16 October 2026, and it takes three HDMI cameras, not four.

Which one should you buy?
| If this is you | Buy this |
|---|---|
| Every camera is HDMI, you stream to YouTube and Facebook at the same time, and you want a multiview screen at the desk plus a clean feed to a lobby TV. | GoStream Deck |
| Any camera has an SDI output, or the camera at the back of the hall is a long cable run from the desk. | GoStream Duet |
| The pastor wears a wireless mic, there's no separate sound desk, and the stream audio has to sound good. | RØDECaster Video S |
| You edit the sermon afterwards and want every camera as its own file. | RØDECaster Video S, or an ATEM Mini Pro ISO |
| Your streaming platform wants SRT, or the building already runs Blackmagic cameras and software. | ATEM Mini Pro |
| You plan to add one network PTZ camera later. | GoStream Duet (NDI built in), a GoStream Deck plus OSEE's license, or the RØDECaster Video S (up to four) |
GoStream Deck vs ATEM Mini Pro: what actually changes
Some of the searches that land people on our GoStream Deck page are, word for word, "atem alternative" and "any other cheaper options?" So this is the comparison people are really making. On paper the two are close: four HDMI inputs, two 3.5mm mic inputs, a USB webcam output, recording, and streaming straight to the internet.
Outputs first. The Deck has two HDMI outputs and runs program on one and multiview on the other at the same time. The ATEM Mini Pro has one HDMI output, and you choose program or multiview. That sounds minor until Sunday, when the operator wants the multiview and the overflow room wants the service. With the Deck, both happen. With the ATEM, one of them needs another box.
Then streaming. OSEE lists up to three RTMP destinations at once over Ethernet, so YouTube and Facebook can both go live from the unit. Blackmagic's spec sheet for the Mini Pro lists RTMP and SRT, and doesn't list more than one destination at a time. SRT is the one thing the ATEM does here that the Deck can't yet. OSEE's own streaming guide says SRT support is coming, without a date, so we wouldn't buy a Deck counting on it.
Headphones are a small thing that comes up a lot. The Deck has a 3.5mm headphone output. Blackmagic lists no audio outputs at all on the Mini Pro, only audio embedded in its video outputs, so you can't plug headphones straight into the switcher to check the stream mix.
Recording is close. The Deck writes one H.264 file at up to 70Mb/s to an SD card or a USB SSD, with OSEE limiting each session to five hours. The ATEM records one H.264 .mp4 to a USB-C drive. Neither records each camera separately. Blackmagic sells that as a different model, the ATEM Mini Pro ISO, and OSEE has it on the GoStream Duet 8 ISO.
On audio processing, the ATEM's Fairlight mixer is the more complete one on paper, with a 6-band parametric EQ, compressor, gate and limiter. The Deck has a low cut, de-esser, gate, compressor and EQ, plus input delay to line the sound up with the picture. Both are fine for a lectern mic and a feed from the sound desk. Neither replaces a real mixer for a band.
Can you add NDI to the GoStream Deck?
Yes. Every GoStream Deck we sell is verified for NDI. We've checked each serial number against OSEE's eligible ranges, so a Deck bought from Filmgear Canada can take the license.
NDI lets a network camera, usually a PTZ, send video over an Ethernet cable instead of HDMI. The Deck takes one NDI|HX camera on its fifth (AUX) input once you add OSEE's GoStream Deck NDI|HX Software license. OSEE sells it in US dollars, at US$69 when we checked on 16 October 2026, which was about C$98 at that day's Bank of Canada rate.
The serial check matters because of a change most reviews predate. Since 23 July 2026, OSEE sells the license only for certain Deck serial numbers: GOSECK xx24xxxxx, GOSECK xx25xxxxx and GOSECK DF2600000 to DF2606740. A Deck outside those ranges can't get NDI at all, so if you're buying one used or from another store, read the serial on the label first.
It's one NDI camera, on the AUX input, not four. And OSEE specifies NDI|HX for this input, so make sure the camera you have in mind sends NDI|HX.
If you'd rather not deal with a license, the GoStream Duet has NDI|HX built in, and so does the Duet 8 ISO. The RØDECaster Video S takes up to four NDI cameras with no license, and can steer PTZ cameras too, though NDI runs over Ethernet, so the console needs a network cable even if it streams over Wi-Fi. Blackmagic doesn't list NDI for the ATEM Mini Pro.
Deck or Duet for a church?
The names are the easiest way to tell them apart. Duet, as in two, takes two kinds of input: each of its four channels accepts HDMI or SDI and detects which one you've plugged in. Deck is HDMI only. Most of the rest is shared.
| GoStream Deck | GoStream Duet | |
|---|---|---|
| Camera inputs 1 to 4 | HDMI | HDMI or SDI, each one |
| Fifth source | USB webcam, MP4 clip or 1 NDI camera | USB webcam, video clip or 1 NDI camera |
| NDI | With OSEE's license (every Deck we sell qualifies) | Built in |
| HDMI outputs | 2 | 2 |
| Streaming | 3 platforms at once | 3 platforms at once |
| Recording | One file, SD card or SSD | One file, SD card or USB SSD |
| Price at Filmgear, 16 Oct 2026 | C$399.98 | C$539.98 |
So for a church it comes down to the cables. SDI is the cable you want when a camera sits at the back of a sanctuary and the desk is up front, and it locks in place, which matters when people walk past it every week. If any camera in the building has an SDI output, get the Duet and skip the converters.
The Duet also has a cooling fan, which it's had from launch. Early Decks had a reputation among owners for running hot, and OSEE says it added internal fans after January 2025. For a church with even one SDI camera, the Duet is the easy call.
If every camera is HDMI and short cable runs are fine, the Deck does the same job. The Duet doesn't record each camera separately either. That's the Duet 8 ISO, which runs four HDMI and four SDI inputs at once and adds XLR mic inputs. OSEE's own store prices it at more than twice the Duet, so it's a different budget, but worth knowing about before you settle.
One more church note, because it's the call we get most after a first stream goes out. If the picture looks dark, flat or blue, a new switcher won't fix it. That's the lights, and we've written that up in our church livestream lighting guide.
When the RØDECaster Video S makes more sense
Sound is where it pulls away from the other two. Both the GoStream and the ATEM take audio through two 3.5mm jacks. That's fine for a line feed from a sound desk and awkward for anything else. The RØDECaster Video S has two XLR/jack combo inputs with RØDE's Revolution preamps, APHEX processing on each channel, headphone outputs with their own mixes, and two wireless receivers built in for RØDE Series IV transmitters. For a small church or a video podcast with no sound desk at all, that's the box.
It's also the only one of the three that records every camera separately. RØDE lists the program at 1080p60 plus four ISO files at 1080p30, all to a USB drive. If someone edits the sermon or the interview afterwards, that saves them hunting through one locked-in program recording.
The trade-offs are real. It's the most expensive of the three. It has three HDMI inputs, not four, and one HDMI output. It's 1080p only. Engadget's review in November 2025 pointed out there are no faders, so audio levels go through menus and a dial, which is a strange thing to say about a RØDECaster. The same review found the audio-based auto switching works but isn't dependable enough to leave alone in a professional setting.
If you like the RØDE approach but need a fourth HDMI camera, the bigger RØDECaster Video has four HDMI inputs, two HDMI outputs and six ISO tracks.
When the ATEM Mini Pro is the better buy
Buy the ATEM if your streaming platform or encoder setup wants SRT. Buy it if you already own Blackmagic cameras or use DaVinci Resolve and want one company's software across the lot. ATEM Software Control is free for Mac and Windows. Buy it if you want the deeper Fairlight EQ and dynamics. And buy it if the people running it on Sunday will be volunteers who learn from YouTube, for reasons the next section puts numbers on.
The comment sections say it more bluntly. Under one of the most-watched GoStream reviews, a commenter wrote: "With the Atem you have support from BlackMagic. Nothing can beat that." It's a fair point, though OSEE lists 16 firmware versions for the Deck and Duet since the 2023 launch.
How much help is out there when you get stuck
The GoStream gets talked about a lot online. We wanted to know how that compares with the ATEM, so on 15 October 2026 we went and counted. We ran three YouTube searches for GoStream and one for the ATEM Mini Pro, kept only videos actually about the product, and read YouTube's own view counts.
| YouTube, 15 Oct 2026 | OSEE GoStream (3 searches) | ATEM Mini Pro (1 search) |
|---|---|---|
| Videos about the product | 114 | 79 |
| Median views per video | 5,505 | 38,527 |
| Videos over 100,000 views | 2 | 18 |
The search was stacked in the GoStream's favour, three searches against one, and the ATEM still came out with about seven times the median audience per video and nine times as many big videos. There's plenty of GoStream content, all of it from 2023 on, since that's when the Deck launched. But if a volunteer hits a problem at 9:45 on a Sunday, the ATEM answer is more likely to be the first result.
Before you order
- Count your camera outputs. Any SDI rules out the Deck, the ATEM Mini Pro and the RØDECaster Video S, and points you at the Duet.
- Check your camera's resolution. OSEE lists 720p, 1080i and 1080p for the GoStream, so an old standard-definition camera won't connect directly.
- Work out where the audio comes from. A line feed from a sound desk goes into any of the three through 3.5mm. XLR mics straight into the switcher means the RØDECaster.
- Planning NDI on a Deck? Every Deck we sell qualifies for OSEE's license. On a used Deck or one from another store, check the serial first.
- Need each camera as its own file? Of these three, only the RØDECaster Video S does it.
- Run Ethernet to the switcher if you can. The GoStream and ATEM stream over a cable, and NDI always runs over the network cable.
The warts
- The GoStream Deck and Duet don't record each camera separately. It's the complaint we found most often, and the most-liked complaint we found, under a Duet review on YouTube, said it outright: "Only lacking the ISO recording."
- Early GoStream Decks had no fan, and some owners put a USB fan under them. OSEE says it added internal fans after January 2025. If you're buying one used, ask when it was made.
- The GoStream has no SRT yet and takes audio through 3.5mm only.
- GoStream firmware is installed from an SD card, and OSEE's notes for V2.3.0 warn that saved device profiles stop working and older PC software isn't compatible. Update between services, not before one.
- The ATEM Mini Pro has one HDMI output, no headphone jack and no separate camera recording on this model.
- The RØDECaster Video S costs the most, takes three HDMI cameras, tops out at 1080p and has no faders.
- None of the three does 4K, and none takes SDI.

FAQ
Is the OSEE GoStream Deck better than the ATEM Mini Pro?
For most HDMI-only church and small-team streams, we think so. It has two HDMI outputs where the ATEM has one, a headphone jack, SD card recording and streaming to three platforms at once, and it costs less in Canada. The ATEM Mini Pro wins on SRT streaming, Fairlight audio processing and the size of its tutorial library, and Blackmagic's support is the reason some people choose it.
Which is best for church livestreaming: ATEM Mini Pro, GoStream Deck or RØDECaster Video S?
It depends on your cameras and your sound. HDMI cameras with a sound desk feeding the stream: the GoStream Deck. Any SDI camera: the GoStream Duet. Wireless or XLR mics going straight into the switcher with no sound desk: the RØDECaster Video S. A Blackmagic building, or a platform that wants SRT: the ATEM Mini Pro.
Can you add NDI to the GoStream Deck?
Yes, and every GoStream Deck we sell is verified for it. With OSEE's GoStream Deck NDI|HX Software license (US$69 on osee-tech.com in October 2026, about C$98), the Deck takes one NDI|HX camera on its AUX input. Since 23 July 2026 OSEE sells the license only for serials GOSECK xx24xxxxx, xx25xxxxx and DF2600000 to DF2606740, so check the serial on a Deck bought elsewhere.
Which of the three records each camera separately?
Only the RØDECaster Video S. RØDE lists the program at 1080p60 plus four ISO recordings at 1080p30 to a USB drive. The GoStream Deck and the ATEM Mini Pro each record one file, normally the program. For ISO in those families you'd look at the GoStream Duet 8 ISO or the ATEM Mini Pro ISO.
Which one streams to YouTube and Facebook at the same time?
The GoStream Deck. OSEE lists streaming over Ethernet to up to three RTMP platforms at once, with no computer. Blackmagic's spec sheet for the ATEM Mini Pro doesn't list more than one destination at a time, and RØDE's page for the Video S says it streams to major platforms over Wi-Fi or Ethernet without giving a number.
Can I plug XLR or wireless mics into these switchers?
Only the RØDECaster Video S takes XLR, through two combo inputs with Revolution preamps, and it has receivers built in for two RØDE Series IV wireless transmitters. The GoStream Deck and ATEM Mini Pro both use two 3.5mm inputs, so XLR mics go through a mixer or an adapter, and a wireless receiver connects by cable.
Does the ATEM Mini Pro have a headphone jack?
No. Blackmagic lists no audio outputs on the Mini Pro, only audio embedded in its HDMI and USB signals. The GoStream Deck has a 3.5mm headphone output, and the RØDECaster Video S drives up to two pairs of headphones with their own mixes.
Do any of them support SRT streaming?
The ATEM Mini Pro does, alongside RTMP, over Ethernet or an internet connection shared over USB-C. OSEE says SRT is planned for the GoStream but hasn't given a date. RØDE lists RTMP and RTMPS for the Video S.
Can I use SDI cameras with any of these?
Not with these three. All of them are HDMI switchers. The OSEE GoStream Duet takes HDMI or SDI on each of its four inputs, and the Duet 8 ISO runs four HDMI and four SDI inputs at the same time.
Does the GoStream Deck overheat?
Early units had no fan, ran warm, and some owners added a small USB fan underneath. OSEE says it added internal cooling fans to the Deck after January 2025, and rates it for 5°C to 40°C. The GoStream Duet has had a fan since launch.
Does the RØDECaster Video S do 4K?
No. Its HDMI inputs are 1080p, and RØDE lists the program recording at 1080p60. Neither the GoStream Deck nor the ATEM Mini Pro does 4K either.
Do I need a computer to run them?
Not during the service. All three switch and record on their own, the GoStream and ATEM stream over Ethernet, and the Video S streams over Wi-Fi or Ethernet. You'll want a computer for setup and updates: OSEE has free PC and Mac software or an SD card for loading stream keys, and Blackmagic includes ATEM Software Control for Mac and Windows.
What's the difference between the GoStream Deck and the GoStream Duet?
The inputs. Each of the Duet's four channels takes HDMI or SDI and detects which one is connected, while the Deck is HDMI only. The Duet also has NDI built in, where the Deck needs OSEE's license. Both have two HDMI outputs, stream to three platforms at once and record one H.264 file.
Final verdict
For an HDMI-only church or small team that streams to more than one platform, the GoStream Deck gives you the most switcher for the money, and every Deck we sell can take NDI later. Any SDI camera, and it's the Duet. If audio is the problem you're actually trying to solve, the RØDECaster Video S is worth the extra. And if you need SRT, live in Blackmagic's world or train volunteers on YouTube, the ATEM Mini Pro is the one to get.
