The Tilta Illusion Magnetic Circular Polarizer Filter snaps onto an Illusion magnetic adapter ring and comes in three versions: Polarizer Only, Polarizer with 5-Stop ND and Polarizer with 1/4 Black Mist. Each one rotates to cut glare and reflections from water and glass, and each takes the Illusion Magnetic VND Adapter on top when you need variable ND.

We have a 14-day return policy, which means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase. For opened or used items, a minimum 15% restocking fee may apply depending on the item condition.

Damages and Issues

Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged, or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

If an item is defective within 14 days of delivery, email info@filmgearcanada.com with a short video of the problem and the serial number, or bring it to our showroom. Once we confirm the defect, we’ll replace it (or refund it if a replacement isn’t available) and handle the manufacturer claim ourselves.

For Special Order items, damage or defect claims must be reported immediately upon delivery and will be handled in accordance with the manufacturer’s warranty terms.

Special Order items are final sale and cannot be returned, exchanged, or refunded once the order has been confirmed with the manufacturer. Refunds

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please note that it may take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.

FAQ

Is there a fixed ND option, or only variable ND?

The Polarizer with 5-Stop ND gives a fixed 5-stop (ND32) reduction on its own, together with polarizer control. Add the Illusion Magnetic VND Adapter when you want to dial between 6 and 10 stops instead.

How does the filter stay on? Is it only magnetic?

Tilta pairs the magnet with mechanical locking, so the polarizer holds on the adapter ring until you release it. In a stack, the base polarizer locks in a fixed position and does not turn when you add the VND Adapter on top.

Which lens sizes does it fit?

The polarizer mounts on a Tilta Illusion Magnetic Filter Adapter Ring that screws into your lens. Tilta makes the rings in 67mm, 72mm, 77mm, 82mm and 86mm, so one polarizer can move between lenses with a ring on each.

Which version should I choose?

Choose Polarizer Only for glare control and a 1 to 5 stop VND with the adapter. Choose 5-Stop ND for bright daylight at wide apertures, up to 10 stops with the adapter. Choose 1/4 Black Mist for softer highlights on portraits and night scenes.

Do I need the VND Adapter to use the polarizer?

No. Each version works on its own as a polarizer. The VND Adapter is only needed when you want adjustable ND, and it is included in the Creator Kit and Ultimate Kit.
